We have all experienced negative outcomes from acting on negative thoughts at some point in our lives. I know I have. But it isn’t about wishing negative thoughts away. We can’t actually get rid of them. Even the Dali Lama admits to getting angry many times a day. But we can choose not to act on them.
Yogi Bhajan said we have just 3-5 seconds to process and release negative thoughts before they create karma for us. That’s nothing, a few blinks or a breath of fresh air. It can pass before you grab it.
How do we control our mind to take advantage of such a tiny moment?
You need mental self-discipline. The Mind is a Muscle that needs training. This training requires time, discipline and devotion.
